Emerald AG College Course
The students undertaking training in the Certificate II Rural Operations program have all performed well and met the competency standards in all five units completed to date.  Agricultural training is a great opportunity to demand the most of yourself, there are no boundaries, developing new skills and competence is a life-time process and we should always look for a chance to learn something new.
Having patience, passion and determination are the elements to succeed in anything.
Some of the activities that the students have completed this year include:
· Trips to Gracemere Saleyards
· Trips to “Paradise Lagoons” and to “Mountain View” to undertake practical training in cattle husbandry and also to repair and maintain fencing
· Construction of a new 4 barbed fence line at Alton Downs
· Students operated vehicles
· Travelled to “Paradise Lagoons” to become familiar with proceedings within Australia’s Richest Campdraft and our Emerald Based Horse Instructor Allan Wallen also instructed the students on procedures and horse husbandry.
We look forward to next year to complete the program and we invite a new group of students to undertake training in agriculture as a likely career which will take you on a journey to a challenging and rewarding life.
